James O’Grady is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey.

James works in our Corporate and Commercial department which is lead by Partner Wendy Lambert.

His appointment marks the further growth of BCR’s non-contentious work offering to its corporate and institutional clients.

Prior to joining BCR Law, James was senior in-house legal counsel for an asset services company in Jersey, primarily supporting the legal business requirements of its corporate, funds and employee and executive solutions lines.

He was also previously a Senior Associate in the business and trusts law group at a large offshore law firm where his practice included dealing with a broad range of local and international corporate and finance matters. These included establishing, buying and selling Jersey companies (many with a UK real estate focus), joint venture transactions, financing transactions (primarily for corporate borrower clients), numerous cashbox transactions for London Stock Exchange listed clients, corporate restructurings and other commercial matters. James has also acted as an adviser to issuers listing debt on The International Stock Exchange.

Professional Background

Advocate O’Grady trained and qualified as an English Solicitor at Shoosmiths, before being called to the Jersey Bar in October 2011.
